Oman: Tuesday’s tally of 1,556 new COVID-19 recoveries over twice as high as new cases

Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the registration of 745 new cases of COVID-19 novel coronavirus in the Sultanate.

Notably, the daily tally of new recoveries also announced today [Tuesday, June 16], has surpassed this figure by more than double, at 1,556.

In a statement issued online, the MoH has confirmed that the total number of coronavirus cases in the country now stands at 25,269, with the total number of recoveries rising to 11,089, along with 114 fatalities recorded thus far.

Of the 745 new cases announced today, 377 are among Omani citizens and 368 are among non-Omani residents.

As per the Ministry there are currently 327 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Oman, 105 of whom are in intensive care. As of today, there have been 2,627 COVID-19 tests carried out in the Sultanate over the last 24 hours.
