Oman to purchase OMR 100,000 worth of respirators for patients in need

Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH), represented by the Directorate General of Specialized Medical Care (DGSMC) signed an agreement on Wednesday [June 17] with Al Jisr Foundation to finance the purchase of respiratory devices at a cost of OMR 100,000 for low-income and social insurance patients.

As Oman News Agency (ONA) reports, the agreement was signed by Dr. Ali bin Taleb al-Hinai, MoH Undersecretary for Planning Affairs on behalf of the Ministry, and Mira bint Khalid al-Busaidi, Board Member on behalf of the Foundation.

Al-Hinai stressed the importance of the partnership between government and private sectors for the public interest, praising the company’s initiative.

On the other hand, Khadim bin Ja’afar Sulaiman, DGSMC Director General pointed out that the Respiratory Care Department has made many achievements — including providing home-based care devices for chronic respiratory patients, as well as following-up of these patients in hospitals and homes by respiratory technicians to ensure the validity and safety of the devices.

Deena al-Asfoor, Chairperson of Al Jisr Foundation confirmed that the Foundation is keen to support the Ministry in providing the needs of low-income and social insurance patients.
