Oman’s committee to address economic impact of COVID-19 holds first meeting

Oman’s Committee for Addressing the Economic Effects Resulting from COVID-19 held its first meeting today [Wednesday, June 17], chaired by His Excellency Hammoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior.

As Oman News Agency (ONA) reports, the Committee reviewed the tasks entrusted to it in the context of coexistence with the current conditions that have resulted from the pandemic and the necessity of adapting to to them.

As per ONA, these facets include studying the economic conditions and setting an appropriate mechanism to limit its effects and ensure the rapid return of economic and commercial activities in order to achieve accelerated economic growth rates.

The Committee also discussed mechanisms to achieve this in coordination with various government agencies and the private sector.
