Oman: Thursday’s COVID-19 recoveries nearly double that of new cases 1,467 to 739

As Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) announces the registration of 739 new cases of COVID-19 in the Sultanate, it has also announced that the number of new recoveries today [Thursday, June 18] is nearly twice that figure at 1,467.

In a statement issued online, the MoH has confirmed that the total number of COVID-19 cases in Oman now stands at 26,818, with total recoveries reaching 13,264 and fatalities 119.

Of the 739 new cases announced today, 302 are among Omani citizens and 437 among non-Omani residents. The MoH has also confirmed that 2,347 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the country in the last 24 hours, and that currently there are 378 coronavirus patients admitted to hospital in Oman, with 103 in intensive care.
