Oman: ROP seize 63 kg of contraband in Muttrah drug bust

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) have seized a total of 63 kilograms of contraband during a drug bust in Muttrah over the weekend.

In a statement issued online today [Sunday, June 5], the ROP confirmed that: “The General Department for Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances has arrested two residents of Asian nationalities linked to an international drug smuggling network after careful operations, and continuous monitoring and follow-up.

Seized at their residence in the Wilayat of Muttrah were 40 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, and 23 kilograms of hashish found in their possession.”

The ROP have also called upon members of the public to assist in efforts to combat drug trade in the Sultanate by cooperating with and informing authorities of any illicit activities witnessed by calling their hotline at 1444, or by contacting the nearest police station.
