Oman records 852 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, total now 27,670

Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the registration of 852 new cases of COVID-19 novel coronavirus in the Sultanate.

In a statement issued online today [Friday, June 19], the MoH has confirmed that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 27,670.

Of the 852 new cases announced today, 368 are among Omani citizens and 484 are among non-Omani residents. The number of new recoveries announced today trails that of new cases by a close margin at 710, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Sultanate to 13,974.

The MoH has also confirmed that the number of COVID-19 fatalities now stands at 125, while the number of coronavirus patients hospitalized in Oman has risen to 389, with 102 in ICU.

A total of 3,317 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the country in the lsat 24 hours.
