A transport aircraft from the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) has evacuated a child with a critical health condition in Dhofar, Oman News Agency (ONA) reports. As per ONA, the child was transported from Dhahboun in the Wilayat of Thumrait, to the Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah to receive urgent medical treatment.
The RAFO have also carried out numerous rescue operations through the use of its helicopters for citizens and residents who were detained by heavy rains and flooding wadis in several places in Dhofar, including Uqad in the Wilayat of Salalah.
Such rescue and evacuation operations in Dhofar fell within the framework of humanitarian services and efforts provided by the RAFO, along with other sectors of the country, to citizens and residents affected by the tropical weather depression which ravaged the governorate since Friday [May 29].
