Oman’s public transportation service provider, Mwasalat, has taken legal action against an Omani social media influencer for circulating a prank video shot involving one of its buses.
In a statement issued online today [Thursday, July 9], Mwasalat has said that it has referred the case to the relevant authorities for immediate legal action after completing an internal investigation into the circumstances of the video.
Previously, Mwasalat had issued a statement verifying that they had viewed the video circulating on social media involving one of its buses, stating that the clip was shot without previous approval from the company prior to the discontinuation of public transportation services amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the video, it is reported that the individual in the video hailed the bus to stop to pick him up and, when the doors had opened, used the doorstep of the bus to tie his shoes without entering the vehicle.
