COVID-19: Supreme Committee allows travel for Omanis

Oman’s Supreme Committee for COVID-19 has issued a statement after convening today [Tuesday, July 14] in a meeting chaired by the Minister of Interior, H.E. Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, to discuss developments of the pandemic in the Sultanate.

In a statement issued online, the Supreme Committee expressed their concern over the increased number of fatalities and rate of new COVID-19 infections and have decided to extend the lockdowns in the Wilayat of Masirah and the Governorate of Dhofar until further notice.

The Committee stated it has also looked into some requests submitted by Omani citizens to travel abroad and have approved easing air travel regulations based on these requests, as long as all health and safety precautions and regulations are followed upon their return to the Sultanate.
