No more than 30 per cent of all employees shall be present at offices of government institutions in Oman starting from tomorrow [Monday, July 13], a new ministerial directive announced today has stated.
The move comes after drastic increases in numbers of COVID-19 cases in the Sultanate, which have been attributed by health authorities to negligence of and ignorance towards physical distancing measures.
Oman’s Supreme Committee for COVID-19 had issued a similar decision to reduce public sector staff attendance on March 22. That decision was then lifted on May 27, when the Committee called on public offices to return at least 50 per cent of their staff to the workplace.
