COVID-19: Seeb crosses 6,000-mark, as total cases in Muscat reach 18,365

As Oman records 745 new COVID-19 cases today [Tuesday, June 16], the national total now stands at 25,269 as per the Ministry of Health (MoH). Of these, Muscat Governorate recorded 445 new cases today, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the capital to 18,365.

Seeb still remains the Wilayat with the highest number of total cases in the governorate, crossing the 6,000-mark today at 6,041, with 131 new cases registered. Bausher also approaches 5,000 cases, with 146 new cases recorded today bringing the total in the Wilayat to 4,944. New cases in Muttrah also grew by 121, for a total of 5,866.

Authorities at the MoH have confirmed that COVID-19 recoveries in the Sultanate have risen to 11,089, with 1,556 new recoveries announced today clocking in at more than double the amount of new cases. While 6 new fatalities brought the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the Sultanate to 114.
