COVID-19: Oman registers highest daily spike in new cases Friday at 1,889

Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the registration of 1,889 new cases of COVID-19 novel coronavirus in the Sultanate — the highest daily spike to date.

In a statement issued online today [Friday, July 10], the MoH has confirmed that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 53,614, while 1,204 new recoveries bring the total number of patients in the country who are now virus-free to 34,225.

Of the new cases announced today, 1,268 are among Omani citizens and 621 are among non-Omani residents. 

The MoH has also confirmed that the number of COVID-19 fatalities now stands at 244 with 8 new deaths announced today, while the number of coronavirus patients hospitalized in Oman stands at 501, with 130 in ICU.
