COVID-19: Oman registers 1,487 new cases, 1,458 recoveries on Tuesday

Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the registration of 1,487 new cases of COVID-19 novel coronavirus in the Sultanate.

In a statement issued online today [Tuesday, July 21] the MoH has confirmed that the total number of cases in the country now stands at 69,887.

Of the 1,487 new cases announced today, 1,159 are among Omani nationals and 328 are among non-Omani residents.

The MoH has also confirmed that the number of COVID-19 recoveries in the Sultanate has risen to 46,608, with 1,458 announced today nearly matching the total daily number of new cases. While, 11 new fatalities have brought the coronavirus death toll in the Sultanate to 337.

As per the Ministry, a total of 582 COVID-19 patients have been hospitalized in Oman, with 169 of them in intensive care.
