COVID-19: Oman registers 1,197 new cases Sunday, total now 38,150

Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the registration of 1,197 new cases of COVID-19 novel coronavirus in the Sultanate.

In a statement issued online today [Sunday, June 28], the MoH has confirmed that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 38,150.

Of the 1,197 new cases announced today, 709 are among Omani citizens and 488 are among non-Omani residents. The number of new COVID-19 recoveries announced today is 837, bringing the total number of patients in the Sultanate who are now coronavirus-free to 21,200.

The MoH has also confirmed that the number of COVID-19 fatalities now stands at 163 with 4 new deaths announced today, while the number of coronavirus patients hospitalized in Oman has risen to 423, with 118 in ICU.

A total of 3,292 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the country in the last 24 hours.
