COVID-19: Oman registers 1,072 new cases Sunday, total now 46,178

Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the registration of 1,072 new cases of COVID-19 novel coronavirus in the Sultanate, while the number of daily recoveries is 949.

In a statement issued online today [Sunday, July 5], the MoH has confirmed that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 46,178, while total recoveries have now reached 27,917.

Of the new cases announced today, 799 are among Omani citizens and 273 are among non-Omani residents. 

The MoH has also confirmed that the number of COVID-19 fatalities now stands at 213 with 10 new deaths announced today, while the number of coronavirus patients hospitalized in Oman stands at 458, with 121 in ICU.

A total of 3,515 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the country in the last 24 hours.
