COVID-19: Oman marks 1,660 new cases Wednesday, total crosses 71,000

Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the registration of 1,660 new cases of COVID-19 novel coronavirus in the Sultanate.

In a statement issued online today [Wednesday, July 22] the MoH has confirmed that the total number of cases in the country now stands at 71,547.

Of the 1,660 new cases announced today, 1,364 are among Omani nationals and 296 are among non-Omani residents.

The MoH has also confirmed that the number of COVID-19 recoveries in the Sultanate has risen to 47,922, with 349 deaths recorded thus far.

As per the Ministry, a total of 577 COVID-19 patients have been hospitalized in Oman, with 165 of them in intensive care.
