Oman’s Public Authority for Water (Diam) has announced a three-month relief package to help private sector companies in the Sultanate off-set the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement issued online today [Monday, July 13], Diam has confirmed that the package will cater to the healthcare, travel, tourism, banking, journalism, and private education sectors.
The authority also outlined conditions of eligibility that must be met in order for a private sector company to avail the benefits of the package.
1. The company or institution should fall within the category of a small to medium enterprise that has been adversely affected by the current economic situation — for example: the reduction of staff salaries and other criteria.
2. The company or institution should fall under at least one of the following sectors: healthcare, travel, tourism, banking, journalism, private education.
As per Diam, companies that meet the above criteria must email these documents to [email protected] no later than Saturday, July 18 to apply for relief package benefits: their national fuel support card, a copy of their water bill, personal ID and business cards, a copy of a valid commercial registration, their water account number, and a certificate of affiliation with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
