— The Supreme Committee chose to reduce the workforce at government offices to 30 per cent because people were not complying with preventive measures at these public offices, and there were prayer gatherings and lunch gatherings witnessed.

Dr. Saif Al Abri, Director General of Disease Surveillance & Control at the Ministry of Health

— Now the rate of COVID-19 infection is at 58 per cent of cases among Omani citizens, and 42 per cent within the expatriate population.

— The reason behind the significant decrease in the number of cases among expats has been due to the fact that there has also been a significant reduction in the number of expats coming for COVID-19 tests.

— This is because many have resumed their work in the smaller shops after more batches of commercial activities were allowed to re-open, plus many companies did not bring their labourers for testing in order to avoid any possible quarantine measures.

Brigadier General Saeed bin Sulaiman Al Asmi, General Director of Operations, Royal Oman Police

— The ban on movement during the lockdown period also includes walking outside and using any means of transportation.
