Speaking at the 13th press conference of the Supreme Committee for COVID-19 on Thursday [July 23], Oman’s Minister of Transport, H.E. Dr. Ahmed Al Futaisi said that “efforts were ongoing” on approvals of a fifth package of commercial activities allowed to re-open.
As per His Excellency, the process was put on hold until after the lockdown period due to “high numbers of infections.”
Among those activities under consideration in the fifth package were barbershops and women’s beauty parlours, which would have specific requirements for operation set against them in light of COVID-19 health and safety precautions.
H.E. Dr. Ahmed Al Futaisi further stated that: “Providing barber and beauty services is a violation, and these practices must be stopped and reported, if any.”
