Oman’s Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) has issued a statement to airline operators in the Sultanate regarding conditions that shall be observed for the departure and arrival of passengers amid COVID-19 safety measures.
In a statement issued online today [Friday, July 24], PACA outlined the conditions that airlines operating in the country must adhere to in order to carry out operations. That lists includes:
— Omani citizens must have valid health insurance for their country of destination that they’re traveling to.
— Both citizens and foreigners in the country are allow to travel from the Sultanate without a permit.
— Omani citizens returning back to the country will be subject to a 14-day quarantine period.
— Visitors to Oman are required to have valid health insurance for the duration of their stay in the country.
— National airlines Oman Air and SalamAir will be allowed to carry transfer passengers.
— Foreigners entering the Sultanate must undergo 14-day mandatory institutional quarantine and show proof of booking for the location of their quarantine, and must have means to bear the cost.
— All arriving passengers to Oman are required to download the Tarassud Plus app prior to arrival, as well as pay OMR 5 to obtain a tracking bracelet which must be worn during quarantine.
— Aircraft crew have been exempted from the 14-day quarantine requirement, but must adhere to all precautionary measures as per the Ministry of Health.
— Non-Omanis are allowed to enter the Sultanate with a permit from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs either via their sponsor, their embassy, or one of the two national airlines (Oman Air and SalamAir).
