Oman’s Ministry of Tourism has stated that hotels in the Sultanate must maintain a safe distance between occupied rooms on each floor in an effort to adhere to social distancing rules and stem the spread of COVID-19.
In a statement issued online today [Sunday, June 7], the Ministry said the move comes in an effort to limit overcrowding, and that restaurants in hotels will not be serving food and drinks. Rather, guests will be offered room service through set menus.
The Ministry also reiterated that access to leisure facilities in hotels across the Sultanate will be limited, and that the use of communal swimming pools will not be allowed. Guests will be permitted access to hotel gyms in reduced numbers, with all equipment being sanitized after each use.
On Thursday [June 4], Oman’s Ministry of Tourism issued COVID-19 regulations for health and safety which all hotel providers in the country must follow.
