COVID-19: Cases cross 3,000 in North Al Batinah, as interiors continue to see steady rise

With total numbers of COVID-19 cases in Oman currently standing at 36,953 as of today [Saturday, June 27], the breakdown of cases among governorates is as follows:

While the capital region of Muscat has recorded the vast majority out of all governorates with a total of 25,343 confirmed cases as of today, the remaining 11,610 cases are spread out across the interiors, which continue to see a steady rise in numbers.

As per inferences from the latest data on the Tarassud Plus app — Oman’s intuitive mobile app that tracks COVID-19 cases in the country per governorate and by Wilayat, the governorate of North Al Batinah has now crossed 3,000 cases with a total of 3,034, while South Al Batinah has a total of 2,936 cases as of Saturday [June 27].

Following these with the next highest number of total cases is Al Dhakiliyah with 1,579 total cases, Al Wusta Governorate with 1,179, South Ash Sharqiyah with 806, North Ash Sharqiyah with 640, and Dhofar with 633.

The governorates that currently have the lowest numbers of confirmed COVID-19 cases are Al Buraimi with a total of 396, Al Dhahirah with 392 total cases, and Musandam with 15 cases in total.
