COVID-19: As Oman marks 50,000+ cases Wednesday, total recoveries cross 32,000

With 1,210 new cases of COVID-19 registered by the Ministry of Health (MoH) today [Wednesday, July 8] the total number of cases in Oman has now crossed 50,000.

MoH authorities have also confirmed that COVID-19 recoveries in the Sultanate have risen to 32,005, with 1,005 new recoveries on Wednesday. Nine new fatalities today have also brought the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the Sultanate to 233.

As the total national case count stands at 50,207 today, cases in Muscat have now reached 30,697, with 531 new cases recorded in the governorate on Wednesday.

The highest proportion of those infected are in Seeb, with 244 new cases on Wednesday bringing the total to 11,165 in the Wilayat. Bausher has also crossed 8,000 cases with 119 newly-registered today, for a total of 8,223 in the Wilayat.

Al Amerat marked the third highest number of new cases, with 64 today bringing the total in the Wilayat to 2,055. New cases in Muttrah Wilayat stood at 52 for a total of 7,747.
