#BREAKING: Oman unveils new special OMR 50 banknote

The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) has unveiled a new special OMR 50 banknote today [Thursday, July 9] “in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the modern Oman renaissance.”

In a statement released by Oman News Agency (ONA), the note is part of the CBO’s sixth edition of new banknotes which will enter into circulation this month.

The special OMR 50 riyal note honours the memory of the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said Bin Taimour.

As per ONA: “The bank will also offer its sixth edition of the new banknotes for all other cash categories for circulation in the Sultanate during the last quarter of this year 2020, which includes the categories of 20 riyals, 10 riyals, 5 riyals, one and a half riyals, and 100 baisa.”
