Muscat Municipality has released a list of additional businesses allowed to open effective immediately, provided that they follow all COVID-19 precautionary measures and health and safety regulations as directed by Oman’s Supreme Committee for COVID-19.

The announcement comes after an extensive updated list of commercial activities allowed to operate in Oman in adherence to health regulations was published last evening [Monday, May 18] by the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources (MRMWR).
In its statement, which was issued online this afternoon [Tuesday, May 19], Muscat Municipality also approved the following commercial activities to resume operations in the governorate, in addition to those outlined by the MRMWR.
The new additions are:
— Flower shops (for pickup/delivery only)
— Perfume shops (for pickup/delivery only)
— Shops that sell home appliances and kitchen devices (with social distancing measures in place)
— Ladies abaya showrooms and boutiques (for pickup/delivery only)
— Telecommunications service centres (with social distancing measures in place)
— Shops that sell cosmetics and beauty products (for pickup/delivery only)
— Shops that sell watches and accessories (for pickup/delivery only)
In its statement, the Municipality further clarified that this decision does not include shops in the Industrial Area of Wadi Kabir and shops in the Wilayat of Muttrah which are to remain closed. It also does not apply to stores and outlets inside shopping malls which will also remain closed.
