896 new cases of COVID-19 registered in Oman on Saturday, total now 28,566

Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the registration of 896 new cases of COVID-19 novel coronavirus in the Sultanate.

In a statement issued online today [Saturday, June 20], the MoH has confirmed that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 28,566.

Of the 896 new cases announced today, 391 are among Omani citizens and 505 are among non-Omani residents. The number of new recoveries announced today trails that of new cases by a close margin at 806, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Sultanate to 14,780.

The MoH has also confirmed that the number of COVID-19 fatalities now stands at 128, while the number of coronavirus patients hospitalized in Oman has risen to 411, with 99 in ICU.

A total of 2,448 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the country in the lsat 24 hours.
