Thunderstorms Expected in Oman; Schools Switched to Online Learning in Two Governorates

The Civil Aviation Authority a statement, warning that thunderstorms are expected over several parts of the Sultanate, including Dhofar, Al Hajar Mountains, Muscat, North Al Sharqiyah, South Al Sharqiyah, Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, Musandam, South Al Batinah, North Al Batinah, and Al Buraimi.

Authorities warned that Dhofar and the coastal areas will be particularly vulnerable to the weather system, and they urged citizens and residents to take their precautions as more intense weather conditions are expected in the coming hours.

The Ministry of Higher Education announced that  in-person classes have been suspended, and students will switch to remote learning in the governorates of South Al Batinah and Al Dakhiliyah, in anticipation of the weather.
