Oasis are reportedly facing concern over plans by their former sound engineer to auction a vast archive of previously unreleased recordings. The collection is said to include more than 100 hours of live performances, rehearsals and candid, “unfiltered dialogue” recorded between 1994 and 2001. The material is reportedly will be up for grabs in early October, with an estimated value of around OMR 500,000.

 

A new sweetener called Sweelin could offer a powerful alternative to sugar, with researchers estimating it is around 3,500 times sweeter by weight. Trials found it had little effect on blood sugar or insulin levels, producing results similar to stevia. While products containing Sweelin have yet to hit the market, manufacturers can now legally use the sweetener in food and drinks.

 

Matt Damon has responded to warnings that AI could pose a serious threat to humanity within the next decade. Asked about claims from an AI whistleblower that some developers fear the technology could become deadly by the end of the decade, he said the concerns should be taken seriously and described the possibility as “a big thing to worry about.”
