A legend of the early internet, Ask Jeeves, has officially closed down after 30 years. While Google focused on keywords, Jeeves encouraged users to ask questions in natural language—essentially making it a “great-grandfather” of AI. The search engine rebranded in 2006 and became known as Ask.com. As of last week, the site was apparently still running, but its owners have now decided to shut it down for good.

 

The results of a new study show that nearly half of Gen Z say they would prefer living in a time before social media. This is according to recent data exploring digital habits and well-being. Researchers link this preference to issues like anxiety, social comparison, and a lack of privacy tied to modern platforms.

 

George Michael’s life is reportedly being turned into a Broadway musical, with his sister said to be in talks with producers after years of turning down other offers. The production aims to feature his hits from Wham! through to his solo career. News that the musical is in the works comes after confirmation that a long-lost concert film and live album are set for release later this year.
