Madonna has sent a message to critics of dance music as she prepares to release Confessions II, a sequel to her 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor. Her message to those who claim that dance music is “dead” in 2026 is: “Maybe you’re playing the wrong music.” While her post may have been intended as a general statement without any specific person in mind, some people have interpreted it differently.

 

Paul McCartney has compared the global fame of today’s pop stars to the peak success of The Beatles, saying that artists like Taylor Swift are experiencing a similar level of worldwide recognition. Reflecting on modern pop music, he noted parallels between Taylor’s cultural impact and the Beatles phenomenon of the 1960s.

 

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have sold their music catalogue to Warner Music in a $300 million deal. It includes 13 studio albums, from their 1984 debut to Unlimited Love and Return of the Dream Canteen (2022). The deal gives Warner control of the band’s master recordings and future earnings from streaming, radio, sales, and licensing.
