Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has secured five prestigious awards in 2026, recognising its achievements in digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), data innovation and operational excellence.
At the Asian Oil & Gas Awards 2026 in Kuala Lumpur on 15 October, PDO won Digital Transformation Initiative of the Year and Data Initiative of the Year. Its recognised initiatives included AI-powered predictive maintenance, the Business Empowerment Programme, automated engineering data extraction and the Field Development Integrated Catalogue (FDIC) Forecasting Solution.
PDO also received two awards at the AI Transformation & Operational Excellence Awards 2026 in Dubai on 29 September: Best Use of AI for Operational Excellence and Best Use of AI in Government, recognising an AI application supporting local content development.
In Oman, PDO received the Transformation Champion Award at the SAP Excellence Awards in Muscat on 6 October, recognising its efforts to modernise enterprise resource planning systems, adopt cloud technologies and integrate AI to improve business efficiency.
These achievements support PDO’s Journey of Transformation, For Oman, which prioritises digitalisation, innovation and Omani talent development to enhance performance, strengthen competitiveness and contribute to the ambitions of Oman Vision 2040.
