Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has signed a three-year integrated services contract with Weatherford covering 274 wells across Marmul and Greater Saqr under the Standardised Satellite Fields Development (SSFD), supporting planned production growth.
Weatherford will deliver oil producer and water injector wells through a phased programme designed to improve efficiency, optimise rig and resource planning, and provide greater cost predictability. The contract is expected to reduce costs by around 20% compared with conventional pricing models while strengthening contractor accountability.
PDO Managing Director Dr Aflah Al Hadhrami said the agreement will support competitive and responsible production growth while advancing PDO’s transformation agenda and local-content objectives, including developing Omani talent and national capabilities.
Weatherford President and CEO Girish K. Saligram said the company will build on its previous work with PDO to deliver safe, reliable and efficient services, while supporting production efficiency, sustainable field development and in-country value.
The agreement also reinforces PDO’s focus on long-term industry partnerships that combine commercial discipline with strong HSE and quality standards to create sustainable value for Oman.
