Oman’s Public Authority for Civil Aviation’s (PACA) Directorate General of Meteorology has issued a weather warning for blowing dust and sandstorms across parts of the Sultanate starting from today [Monday, June 22], through until tomorrow [Tuesday, June 23].
In an advisory bulletin on its website, PACA has issued dust and sandstorm warnings for Adam, Fahud, Yaloni, Sunayah, Haima, Hamra ad Duru, Marmul, Muqshin, Al Mazyunh, Thumrait, Qarn Alam, Zamaim, and Buraimi.
The weather office has also issued thunderstorm advisories from today for Ibra, Bahla, Mudhebi, Ibri, Saiq, Samail, Nizwa, Al Hamra, Izki, and Jabal Shams.
In its daily forecast, PACA has stated that chance of dust and rising winds over open and desert areas will persist throughout the day and into tomorrow, and has cautioned against rough seas and poor visibility due to fog formation in those areas receiving rain and thundershowers.
