Oman’s Ministry of Health (MoH) has issued Ministerial Decision 95/2020 establishing a team to supervise the preparation and operation of a 200-bed field hospital to accommodate COVID-19 patients.
In a circular issued today [Sunday, July 5], the MoH said that the team will be chaired by the Consultant of Development at the Minister’s Office, and will also include the Director-General of Specialist Medical Care, the Director-General of the Royal Hospital, the Director-General of Nursing Affairs, the Director-General of Projects and Engineering Affairs, and the Manager of the Emergency Management Centre.
As per the MoH’s decision, the team head will report weekly to the Ministry on developments for the implementation of the field hospital facility. Details on the proposed location for the facility have not yet been released.
