The Royal Oman Police (ROP) have seized 331 narcotic tablets intended for trafficking in a drug bust in Dhofar Governorate.
In a statement issued online the ROP said that the bust, which took place on Thursday [June 18], was organized in cooperation with its Department of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, and Dhofar Governorate Police.
Authorities have confirmed that five alleged suspects of Asian and African expatriate nationalities have been arrested and charged with possession of narcotic drugs for the purposes of trafficking and abuse.
During the raid, ROP officials seized 331 tablets of the narcotic Captagon.
In its statement the ROP expressed appreciation for the efforts of citizens and residents in the fight against drug abuse by cooperating with and informing the police of any actions carried out by drug dealers that they may witness. Members of the public can file a report by calling the ROP hotline at 1444, or by informing the nearest police station.
