Oman Duty Free has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with China Duty Free International Limited to strengthen cooperation in duty-free and travel retail, during the state visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the People’s Republic of China.

The MoU was signed by Sayyid Nasr bin Badr Albusaidi, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Duty Free, and Ms. Dou Xiaoqiong, Managing Director of China Duty Free International.

The MoU aims to develop Oman Duty Free’s business, attract leading global brands to the Sultanate of Oman and support the company’s international expansion. Cooperation will include sharing expertise in store operations and category management, and exploring merchandise supply and franchising opportunities at travel gateways.

China Duty Free International is part of China Tourism Group, whose businesses span tourism, travel, hospitality and retail. The group’s growing interest in the Omani market, and the partnerships and investments that may follow, could help strengthen Oman’s position as a tourism destination and attract more Chinese visitors.
