Jindal Steel and Sohar University have signed an agreement to establish the Jindal Skill Training Centre in Oman, aimed at equipping young Omanis with practical, industry-relevant skills for the future.

The centre will focus on advanced manufacturing, automation and emerging technologies, combining Sohar University’s academic expertise with Jindal Steel’s industrial experience. The initiative aims to strengthen Oman’s national workforce and prepare young people for technical and leadership roles across the manufacturing sector.

Jindal Steel Chairman Naveen Jindal said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to youth empowerment, skills development and Oman Vision 2040. CEO Harssha Shetty added that investing in future-ready skills will help strengthen Oman’s industrial capabilities and support economic growth.

The centre forms part of Jindal Steel’s broader efforts to advance Omanisation and develop a skilled workforce for the country’s evolving industrial sector.
