The Sultanate’s national carrier, Oman Air, operated a repatriation flight from London which arrived back in Muscat yesterday [Tuesday, May 19], carrying Omani citizens home.
The arrival marked the return leg of a journey which saw the airline repatriate expat nationals back to the UK on Monday, May 18. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Oman Air has played an integral role in supporting the country’s efforts to repatriate its nationals abroad, having operated flights to Thailand, India, the UK, and Tanzania, among others, to bring Omani citizens back to the Sultanate.
The national carrier has also been instrumental in its cargo operations to import food and medical supplies as well as other commodities from abroad to support the needs of the country during the global COVID-19 pandemic.
As the airline continues its repatriation operations, all flight crew and passengers are required to undertake “extensive safety precautions before, during, and after the flight.”
