More than 9,000 people have been infected by COVID-19 in Oman since last Thursday, H.E. Dr. Ahmed Al Saeedi, Minister of Health, stated during the 12th press conference held today [Thursday, July 2] by the Supreme Committee for COVID-19.
The Minister added that more than 34 deaths have been recorded within last week.
“Pictures of gatherings circulated on social media is saddening and frustrating,” he said.
Oman has reported 1,361 cases today, as total cases in the country jump to 42,555, out of which 25,318 have recovered — with 1,156 new recoveries announced today.
To date, 188 people have died of COVID-19 in the Sultanate, according to His Excellency the Minister of Health.
