Al Mouj Muscat: 20 Years of Economic Growth and National Impact

Al Mouj Muscat has marked its 20th anniversary with the release of an independent economic impact study, revealing a contribution of OMR 878 million to Oman’s GDP over the past two decades. The study highlights the development as a national benchmark for integrated destination development and a key driver of Oman Vision 2040.

Since its inception, Al Mouj Muscat has generated over OMR 1 billion in revenue, attracted OMR 880 million in foreign direct investment and ownership, and supports 167 SMEs, while retaining an estimated 43.6% of its expenditure within Oman’s economy. Today, it welcomes almost four million visitors annually, is home to residents from more than 90 nationalities, and has created over 2,200 direct and 5,700 indirect jobs.

Its diversified portfolio—including residential communities, five hotels, a world-class marina, an award-winning golf course, retail and leisure assets, and a year-round events programme—has established Al Mouj Muscat as one of Oman’s leading tourism, lifestyle and investment destinations.
