On the occasion of World Children’s Day (November 20th), UNICEF Oman and SABCO Media held an event at the National Museum, to award the winners of the Our Oman, Our Priority competition, and showcase the top 20 photographs. The shots were taken by children aged 6-17 from across Oman, and the opening was attended by the Chairman of SABCO Media, Sayyid Khalid al Busaidi, and the Representative of UNICEF Oman, H.E. Sumaira Chowdhury, as well as the children whose photos were on display and their families.
The 20 photographs were chosen out of dozens that were received by UNICEF Oman, in partnership with SABCO Media, as part of a photography competition that the two entities jointly ran in October.
The theme of the competition was “My Oman, My Priority”, and it called on children to submit photos of what matters to them most, giving them the space to showcase the environment around them from their lens.
The four most popular photos were selected by fans over UNICEF Oman’s Instagram page, and one photo was chosen by the Chairman of SABCO Media, Sayyid Khalid al Busaidi. The winners received prizes granted by Khimji Ramdas.
The exhibition is open to the public in the lobby of the National Museum in Muscat, and following November 28th, the exhibition will be moving across different locations in Muscat.
