Oman Meteorology issued a statement online, saying that the tropical depression in the Arabian Sea has intensified into a deep tropical depression, adding that it is likely to become a tropical storm, and later develop into a first-class cyclone.
The tropical storm will be called ‘Bibarjoy’.
As of now, the depression seems to be moving toward the north to northwest, towards the Indian and Pakistani coasts, but officials said that people should keep an eye on the weather report in the coming days, as the direction of the storm may change.
The statement said that there are still no direct effects expected on Oman’s weather in the next five days.
Officials added that the wind will not cool down temperatures, but it can result in dust rising and in the movement of unstable objects.
