In a statement issued online, Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced that the tropical cyclone in the east of the Arabian Sea, called Tauktae, is not likely to have any impact on the Sultanate. They added that the cyclone, which has a wind speed of around 70-80 knots (130-150 km/h), is predicted to make landfall on the Indian/Pakistani coasts on May 18.
The statement added that the sea is expected to be moderately rough from May 17 to May 19 along most of the coasts, with expected wave height ranging between 2-4 meters.
