Minister of Health Dr Ahmed bin Mohammad Al Saeedi warns that stricter COVID-19 restrictions cannot be ruled out as numbers of patients in intensive care units continue to rise.

Despite the more stringent rules that had been enforced during the Supreme Committee’s last two meetings, the epidemiological situation continues to decline, and according to the minister, that is partly due to people’s failure to comply with precautionary measures.

Speaking at the official launch of a vaccination campaign in Musandam Governorate, Dr Al Saeedi urged target groups to get vaccinated, saying that there was a significant decrease in the number of ICU patients among those over the age of 65 after receiving the jab.
