Michael Jackson is reportedly the most-searched music artist on Google so far this year. Interest in the King of Pop has surged following the success of the Michael Jackson biopic, with his music also enjoying a major streaming boost. Classics including Billie Jean, Beat It and Human Nature have also returned to the Billboard Hot 100, more than a decade after his death.
Spider-Man director Jon Watts is heading to a galaxy far, far away. He directed Tom Holland’s Spider-Man trilog and is now set to direct Lucasfilm’s next Star Wars movie. The film is expected to launch a new trilogy continuing the Skywalker Saga, with Simon Kinberg writing. Reports suggest production could begin as early as 2027, but that isn’t confirmed.
Netflix is developing a new feature film based on Sesame Street. The movie will be made with Sesame Workshop, but plot details and a release date haven’t been announced. Netflix will also continue producing new seasons of Sesame Street through Season 62. Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch and Bert and Ernie are all expected to be featured.
