Brazil has just been named the world’s top destination to visit in 2026. The South American country has just been named by travelandleiusre.com as Destination of the Year for the diversity of experiences it offers to travellers, its ever-evolving food scene, and celebrations of local culture. Rio de Janeiro was also recently crowned the best city break in South America at the World Travel Awards.

 

An 18-karat gold working toilet sculpture has just sold for a whopping $12,110,000, according to Sotheby’s. The head of Contemporary Art Marquee Auctions said “It looks like a toilet, but it also looks nothing like a toilet you have ever seen”. The Italian artist who designed it previously went viral for another project that Sotheby’s sold last year for $6m, consisting of a banana duct taped to a wall.
