Your phone may be harming your sleep more than you realise. The blue light it emits signals your brain that it’s still daytime, increasing alertness and suppressing melatonin—the hormone essential for sleep. Research suggests that using your phone before bed can have an effect similar to drinking two cups of coffee, and just 30 minutes of scrolling may delay the start of deep sleep by as much as 90 minutes.
Instagram is rolling out a new feature that gives you more control over your algorithm, starting with the Reels tab. While watching Reels, you’ll see a new icon in the upper-right corner—tap it to open Your Algorithm. From there, you can view a summary of the topics Instagram believes you’re most interested in. You can then fine-tune your feed by choosing which topics you want to see more or less of.
Studies indicate that higher coffee intake may offer significant protection against liver cancer. People who drink more than two cups a day were found to have a substantially lower risk, with researchers estimating a reduction of around 43%. The benefit is thought to come from coffee’s natural compounds, which appear to help the liver process toxins more efficiently.
