Italy is now allowing employees to take paid leave to care for sick pets, recognising them as part of the family. This follows a court ruling that classifies pet emergencies as “serious personal or family reasons” under national labour law. To qualify for the paid leave, employees must provide a letter from a vet confirming that the animal requires urgent care.

 

A professor at Harvard has suggested that a portion of French fries should consist of just six pieces, arguing that fries should be treated more as a small side rather than a major part of a meal. He explained that when portions are smaller, people are more likely to balance their meals with other foods instead of relying heavily on fried sides.
