Apple are delaying the rollout of controversial child safety features which they were planning to launch later this year. They faced criticism following the announcement last month of a detection system which involved automatically scanning iPhone pictures before they are uploaded to iCloud. Apple have said they will now take additional time over the coming months to collect input and make improvements.

 

Even though it was only supposed to fly five times, NASA’s helicopter on Mars, Ingenuity, isn’t quite ready to retire yet. It’s mission has been extended indefinitely according to NASA. Ingenuity is the travel companion of the rover Perseverance, whose core mission is to look for signs of ancient life on Mars. Exceeding all expectations, it has gone on to fly a total of 12 times.

 

WhatsApp is set to stop working on a lot of older phone models soon. On November 1st, the app will no longer operate on up to 43 different smartphone models. In its FAQ section, for the most popular phones, WhatsApp recommends using Android running OS 4.1 and newer, or iPhones running iOS 10 and newer for the app.
