Instagram is said to be working on a new feature that allows you to add a song to your profile. It’s a feature that sounds similar to to what MySpace offered, where users could add songs to their MySpace account, including an option to autoplay the song every time someone visited their profile.
A computer hacker in the UK who made more £130,000 by stealing unreleased music from Ed Sheeran has been sent to jail. He exchanged the music in return for cryptocurrency on the dark web after hacking into their cloud-based accounts. Prosecutors say that not only did he cause several artists and their production companies significant financial harm, he deprived them of the ability to release their own work.
Taylor Swift’s new album has just broken the Spotify record for the most-streamed album in a single day. Midnights, went live on Friday and in less than 24 hours, they announced that the album had amassed the most streams in a single day in the platform’s history. Not only did it break a record, it also appeared to break Spotify as several users reported a big spike in outages when the new album was released.
